Happy Birthday Mary!

Mary Beth Quick, she is my middle sister that I love dearly. I may not always show it but she knows that I do. My sis turned 19 this week and it has truly made me feel very old. She is a senior in high school who is getting ready to start her life. She has changed so much in this last year that its be amazing to see. Mary has a very decent boyfriend that treats her very well. He has made her become more of a person then I have seen in years. So thanks Teddy! Mary I know you think i am being a butt about the whole nursing thing but I am just looking out for you. Good luck with everything and you can always count on me to be there for you. I love you darling and Happy belated birthday. (I did wish her a happy birthday on Dec 11, her birthday, just haven't had time to post on here.)

Memories of 07

The memories of 07

January- It was a cold month and I was still down from being sick. I remember many nights by the fireplace watching movies with bill.

February- Racing started back up with the Daytona 500. Went to watch the race with my dad, mary and bill at the Arena in Omaha. The same night my fridge went out and the apartments didn't think it was an emergency to do anything about it.

March- I moved into my new apartment. I got my blogsite.

April- Grandpa turned 80 and Dad turned 50 had parties for them in Ne City. VA shootings very sad!

May- Dirt racing really kicked off for the year. It was a lot of fun. However mother nature won quite a few races. Mitch a good friend of the family passed away.

June- Attended my first CWS game it was a lot of fun. Mom and dad celebrated there 26th wedding anniversary

July- Carson Family Reunion

August- I was dog sitting and constantly on the go. Enjoying the lovely summer days. Bill and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary

September- Went to the Lake of the Ozarks to get away to clear my mind.

October- Husker football is starting to turn around! TO came back! Rockies made it all the way to the World Series but lost. Way to go guys you had a good year.

November- Mitch was hurt in Iraq. I turned 25 that month.

December- There was a terrible shooting at the Westroads in Omaha, Nebraska. Terrible ordeal. Mary turned 19. Mom has a birthday coming in a few days. The holiday season is upon us and be grateful for everything that has happened for all.
What is the deal with people? First my lovely home has the mall shooting and now Colorado has it going on. Come on people can't we all just get along. These monsters are hurting innocent people. Please pray for everyone one and hope nothing more like this happens during this holiday season.

As most know because you live in this area. We are preparing for another ice/snow storm that is suppose to start this evening. I am getting really tired of this ice part I can handle the snow but ice go away. Hope everyone stays safe and warm.

I will have another post coming I am still writing it. I hope everyone will post one like it.

I must have

an angel up above looking down on me. Yesterday I was going about my normal business and I was talking to a few ladies in the office about our holiday party this weekend. I told them I was going to go out during lunch to go shopping. Tiffany, my co-worker told me I should go to Von Maur because they have some really cute stuff at a good price. I was like well I am going to go to Maurices first and if not I will go this evening to Von Maur. Well I headed to Maurices found something wasn't to thrilled with it so I had headed out to Westroads but realized the time and decide to stop and get something to eat instead. I walked back into the office sat down and right then it came over the radio that there was a shooting at the Westroads mall. My heart stopped my co worker Tiffany came running over to my desk to make sure I was here.

We sat at our desks with the internet pulled up watching everything unfold. That could have been me in there. What do you do but believe that I must have a guardian angel. This kid needed help and needed loved which he obviously didn't get. Now he has "went out in style and famous" (this was stated in one of his suicide notes) Not in any way that someone should want to be.

Please pray for all the people that this has impacted there life. I live 2 miles away from this mall and the whole area is just in mourning.

Update

I don't have much to update you on but Janell wanted an update on Mitch. He is doing better he is back in the U.S. I believe at Ft. Hood. I am not sure where that is and he hasn't responded to my email yet. I know he is in a lot better condition then what we were first told. His main problem is his hand now. He will be back in Nebraska for the holidays so I will have more of an update then.

Holiday

Well the weekend is gone and I had a lot of fun. Wednesday I did some baking for Thanksgiving and cleaned a little bit. Thursday it was off to my Aunt Pam's house in Elkhorn at 12. So I slept in a little bit and then just vegged on the bed watching tv until the last possible moment. It was nice just to do that. Went out to Elkhorn and enjoyed the holiday with my mom's side of the family. Went home to watch Grey's Anatomy. Couldn't miss it that is my show!!!!

Friday morning, I was up at 2:30 to get ready. Yes I was one of those crazy shoppers out there. I got some really good deals on things. I was home and in bed by 8 that morning. I got up and went to hang out with some friends at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch Nebraska get there ass kicked by Colorado. (Sorry but there is no nicer way of saying it, we were terrible)

Saturday the greatest gift possible came, T.O. (Tom Osborne) fired Coach Callahan. The football program maybe recovered. After that news I headed up to the parents to have corned beef and cabbage with my grandpa. Then my cousin Jessica and I went off shopping and dinner for my birthday.

Sunday I decorated my apartment for the holidays, I still need to get a few things. Maybe once its all done I will post a few pictures of my tree. It is really small but very cute.

Today is my 25th birthday. I haven't done anything except work. Not sure what is in store for tonight but hopefully I will figure something out. I used to spend my birthday with bill and we would stay in, have dinner and watch movies. Don't really want to do that by myself.

Anyways hopefully everyone had a great holiday weekend.

Grandma

I have so many memories of my grandma and we couldn't wait for the day that I turned 21 so we could go to the casino. She was a very lucky person when it came to gambling. My grandma had become my rock over the years. Maybe it was the fact I was the first grandchild and I was a girl. Oh boy did I get spoiled over the years. I had my grandparents all to myself for five years. It was wonderful to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house, most of the family was still around the area. I lived with my grandparents when I was born because my dad had got Rocky Mountain Fever. No one was as close to my grandma as I was. I was heartbroken when she was diagnosed with cancer not once, not twice, but three times.

In October of 2003 they had come to Nebraska to fly out to Ohio to see my Aunt Sandy. They returned beginning of November, I had went down to visit them because they were leaving the next day. I remember the conversation I had with my grandma, she was asking me if my allergies caused me not to breathe at times. I think that was her way of telling me something was wrong. That evening my grandpa woke up to my grandma saying the lords prayer and not being able to breathe that well. The ambulance took her to UNMC. I had hoped and prayed that she would make it through. She had up and down days for weeks. I had taken a leave from work so that I could be with her. I left to sleep and get something to eat otherwise I was with her. My aunt from Ohio flew in, and my uncle from Missouri came up. Things had turned bad she had tubes shoved down her throat she looked like she was in so much pain. On Friday the 14th they had removed the tube because she had got a lot better. She was in great spirits laughing talking on the phone, hugging all of us. So my uncle went back to Missouri that evening. We got the phone call at 11:45 pm on the 14th that she was going downhill and we needed to get there. I was there within 10 minutes. I was shaking the whole way there. We finally took her off all machines but oxygen I believe it was at 3:15 am on the 15th. My rock didn't want to give up, the way her vitals were they thought she would be gone within minutes. She lived until 7:45 pm she fought all the way to the end. That whole day is so vivid to me that I had nightmares for months. I still have the outfit that I had on that day.

I have come to believe she is my guardian angel now. Grandma I miss you so much and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you. Your picture is right next to my bed. I love you very very much. I wish you would come back to me and help me out in these bad times.

Holiday Irritations

Holidays are suppose to be happy times. November is a terrible depressing month for me. Both of my grandmothers (Grandma Thomas and step grandma Darlene, my grandpa quick's wife) passed away on November 15 same hospital and same floor. A little freaky if you ask me. Then on top of it there thanksgiving and you are suppose to be thankful doesn't usually work to well these past years for me. Well lets just add to it its my birthday right around thanksgiving. However these aren't my irritations there are things you have to deal with in life. The thing that irritates me is stores having holiday decorations out before Halloween, or people having lights up and on before thanksgiving. The bell ringers are already ringing and its just annoying to go to every store and there is a ringer. Yes I put in my fair share but come on starting at the beginning of November for this. I might just be grouchy since its the day before my grandma died but I figured it was something to blog about and get off my chest.

What holiday things irritate you?

I have become addicted to my facebook account. I have never had this issue but one of my friends bombed me I wasn't sure what that was about. So I started playing pirates and I can't stop. I love figuring out new things on this and its moving in on my free time. Oh well at least it keeps me occupied and I don't think about other things.

The other thing is going okay we are still friends so we talk daily. Other then that I am taking it day by day doing my own thing. Time will tell how things turn out but I am finding myself in all of this. Its making me a stronger person.

Officially....Over

Well the last 6 months have been such a roller coaster emotional and physically for me. Bill and I have had our problems and have been trying to work them out. We are now going our separate ways after 6 years. I am beyond crushed and can barely keep focused. I don't even want to get out of bed in the morning. This is why I haven't been posting to much because I am just at a loss of words. Time will heal everything. Just thought I would post an update of what is going on in my life. I will most likely won't be posting for a while but at least you all know why.

Favorite Meal Growing Up

All this talk about food lately has made me think back to growing up and what my favorite meal was, and still is. However it doesn't do to well for the waistline. On our birthdays we always got to choose what wanted mom to make. I loved round steak mashed potatoes and gravy. That would be my birthday meal. The one meal I would eat everything on my plate was Roast beef mashed potatoes and gravy. I am from a small town so I grew up on red meat and potatoes. I am attempting to change the red meat thing but the potatoes will never be gone.

My favorite place to go out to dinner growing up was The Green Lantern in Decatur, Nebraska, Gurney's in Missouri Valley Iowa and Dusty Rose in Tekamah Nebraska. However I haven't been to them in years. Very sad about the Dusty Rose has changed owners and names. Not the same as it was. The other two I really can't say to much about since its been a while.

What were your favorite meals and/or going out to dinner when growing up?

Jinks

Can a person really be a jinks? I feel like I can't watch a sport because I jinks things. Why do I think this? Any time I go to watch Bill race he does terrible any time I am not there he does great. My favorite Nascar driver is Dale Jr. if I am not watching the race he is doing good. Within a half hour of me watching it something happens to him. Last night I watched a good chunk of the Rockies game and look they got there butts kicked. Maybe its just coincidence but I feel like a jinks now. So I will not be watching anymore of the World Series so that way the Rockies have a chance.

Hardest questions asked every year!

The hardest questions that are asked every year:

What do you want for your birthday?
What do you want for Christmas?

I don't have answers for those. The birthday is coming up next month and I have no ideas on what I want. Then I have to turn around the next month and give more ideas. I like gift certificates but then I end up using them for silly things that I really didn't need. Money is always good but same thing you use it on stuff you shouldn't like bills or on things you don't need. I have just about every appliance for the kitchen, living room, bedroom. I have a want list but its way to big of stuff for birthdays or holidays. I do need new clothes but I am just picky and don't like the style. Need to shed those pounds also. I am not spoiled but what I have I have worked my butt off for. I am not trying to sound like I don't like the gifts I get because I do and I know that they give me gifts because they love me. How do you answer something when its the small things that would make you happy like spending the day with them or watching a movie. The past three years on my birthday Bill and I stayed home ordered pizza and watched movies. I used to get crap from people because I didn't go out somewhere fancy or go out to do something. Maybe I am not normal but I would rather spend time with people that I love then spend a lot of money for just one day.

What is questions you have a tough time answering?

Somewhat better

Yes I am doing somewhat better. I don't have the nausea going on anymore. I am slowly getting my appetite back. I wish the weather would make up its mind on what it is going to do. That has caused a very bad headache for me. However since I got that shot earlier this year I haven't had to take any allergy medicine. WHOA i think i found something that works! I will blog later today or tomorrow on the past week.

Starting

Today I am feeling under the weather. It started yesterday afternoon and today it is still hanging around. I feel ill everytime i eat or drink something but I don't end up getting sick. So my life isn't very eventful right now because i am trying to do very little so I don't upset my stomach. I am busy working away at work and trying not to think of how I feel. Tonight is going to be a lay on the couch night and hope to get better. I know there is many things going around. If I am going to get sick just get it over with and quite playing games. I will hopefully be able to post more later this week.

"City Girl"

That nickname was given to Valerie many years ago. I have never that of myself as a city girl until it was wrote today. So I have decided to blog about it. Growing up I lived in a small town called Blair. When you went to bed you would hear the trains going through town other then that you would hear the crickets chirping away. The sun would rise and the birds would be carrying on there conversations outside in the trees. There is no traffic to be heard unless some dumb teenager was messing around otherwise just sounds of nature. The sirens will go off in town and everyone would know what siren it is and you would wait and see if the rescue or fire truck go out 75 or 91. If you didn't see it you knew it went the other direction. Don't plan to have a meal after 9 except for McDonalds because the town basically closes up at that time. You shopped at Pamida or you went to Omaha to shop which is a 20-25 minute drive depending on if you get behind a Sunday driver. Which seems to happen any day of the week.

When I visit Blair overnight it is so nice to sleep with it being quiet. I live on a very busy street in Omaha so you hear traffic all night long if you have your door or windows open. To hear nature that is not very often except for the wind. You can eat at any time of the night because you can always find somewhere to go. I have many places to shop around my place I could walk to them if I wanted to but I don't due to having to cross major intersections. If there is someone being a sunday driver they usually get honked at or given the finger telling them they are #1. I however wouldn't change where I live because I love the conveince of everything.

I have read in the local paper back home that there is many things changing and I am afraid that the town I grew up in isn't going to be there anymore. Just in the last month it has changed a lot when you come into town. Sometimes change is good but I don't think this is going to be good for the town. I know someone that has a local business in blair and I hope that these big companies that are coming in won't hurt them. That is what made that town the way it is.

Let the small towns be you big corporations!!!!!!

First Job

My first job besides babysitting which I did for many years was a waitress. I worked for a small local cafe called Billy's Blair Maple Cafe. I got that job in Oct 99. I only worked weekends so it didn't interfere with school that much. I didn't like it at all when I was in high school and lived at home. I just looked at it as a job. When I graduated from high school the owner asked if I would rotate to the Omaha locations also. So I did and then stopped for a few months. However at the present time I am still working there. I never thought my first job I would still have I figured I would have been fired a long time ago because i had my days with some customers. 8 years later I enjoy the job because its a different environment to be in then my weekly job. The boss is a pretty decent person also. Well that was my first job and probably have it till the day I die or if the place is ever sold.

Yes I am around

Yes I am around but just extremely busy but its the same stuff just a different day. Nothing really to blog about. I took a short unexpected vacation to the Ozarks two weeks ago. It was very beautiful down there and I enjoyed the visit with my cousin. I miss her very much. I am still working on the diet thing the short vacation kinda through me off for a few days but I did somewhat okay. I will try and keep you updated on that.

Janell- I do not have an email for Sharolynn or Teri. I can give you a phone number but thats about it. My sister might have one or LaDawn may also. I only have a cd drive on my laptop computer and I don't even have microsoft word its microsoft word processor. I only get to my desktop when I am at my parents house since they are using it. I went cheap on that part which I regret now but oh well. Let me know if there is another way we can go about this. Also let me know what exactly you want me to do.

Back on it

Well I am back on my diet and have been for over a week. I am doing good so far. I have been to the gym everyday but Saturday and Sunday but I made sure to go up and down my stairs quite a few times to make up for not going. I am now up to 4 miles a day which is exciting. I haven't shed to many pounds yet but it will come with time. The calories are cut back and so is the soda. The water is being taking in by the ounces and the trips to the bathroom have multiplied due to that. Oh well that happens. Bill has joined the gym with me now so he is keeping me very very motivated. We are very competitive at the gym and the next day we are both paying for it. I love going with him to the gym though because of the competition otherwise I get bored easily. I start thinking of all the other things I could be doing so I hurry up with the work out. Anyways watch for updates. I am trying some new recipes so I will try and post them if they are worth anything.

Disrespectful

I am so upset at how disrespectful people can be. Who hits somebody's car and leaves? Sometime since Thursday someone has hit my jeep in the drivers door and dented it in two spots. My car is still in mint condition until this. However my uncle was able to get the dents out by massaging them out with some tool. So now there is just two spots where paint is missing. If I find out who did this to my car they will pay dearly!

Maggie

There is this little girl that comes into the restaurant on Sundays her name is Maggie. She is a very sweet little girl. On Sunday she says Brooke do you know what I want to be when I grew up? I said no what would you like to be when you grow up? I want to cut hair or be a doctor. I told her go for being a doctor. The conversation proceeds to what do you do? I told her I do accounting. She got the strangest look on her face. I go I work with numbers. She goes oh i don't like numbers you should do something fun. I just had to laugh. I still laugh about because it was so cute.

Disbelief

Yesterday in the local news there was an article about a woman that walked into Bergan Mercy Hospital with a clothes basket and went into the bathroom. Walked out without the clothes basket and left the hospital. Well in the basket was a baby boy. I am in so much disbelief that someone would do something like this. I know it happens all over but come on take some responsibility. You did the deed so deal with it. Everyone thinks that it is so fun to "go to the park" well there is consequences. There is so many people out there that can't have kids. The least this person could have done is given the baby up for adoption. Sorry I had to vent this just really makes me upset that someone is that irresponsible!

After a long weekend

I hate coming back to work after a long weekend. I am dragging and there is so much piled up on my desk I don't know where to begin. Its month end and I have logs everywhere from all the trucks on my desk. Then there's the service work stuff that keeps flowing in. Oh can't forget about all the lovely invoices on top of that. Oh what a mess!

The weekend went pretty fast but I enjoyed most of it. Bill was off racing so I did so much "spring cleaning but in the fall" The place is cleaned from top to bottom and I have no laundry to do. My sister spent the night Saturday but we will didn't get much time to spend with each other because she didn't get there till 9:30. I go to bed at 10 every night. Yeah I am boring. Sunday I worked and then went to a picnic with my family. Monday I did some grocery shopping and vegged the rest of the day.

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.

Been a while

Its been a while since I have posted. Not a lot has been happening with me. Its been the same thing just a different day. I took a vacation day on Thursday but used it to work at the restaurant. What a nice person I am. I looked at it I was getting paid twice. The rain has been making the evening quite beautiful with all the lightning to bad my camera wasn't full or I would be taking pictures.

I have finally went to the next stage of technology with music. I have invested in a MP3 player. I am not sure exactly how to use it. It has been a trial and error process. If anyone has any suggestions let me know?

Oh and another thing there was a classmate of mine that passed away this year (Tracy Ortmeir), her family owns the Radio Shack in Blair. A few of my classmates are putting together a cookbook in her memory which all proceeds go to American Cancer Society. If you would like to contribute to the cookbook let me know.

Answers

Here are the answer to Plummie's questions

1. When I was 18 I was planing on going to the University of Nebraska in Kearney to major in Political Science and then move to D.C. to work on the Hill. How is it different? I never went to Kearney met a guy during the summer and just didn't want to leave him. I have went to two different local colleges. Worked at FNB and now at a commercial roofing and sheet metal company doing the accounting. Not really what I had thought my life would be.

2. The one piece of advice I was given when I was younger was to save money. I never did a really good job with it. I would tell people if they are going to move out on there own to save about $5000 before you do it. Just in case if you have something that comes up. I only had about $1000 when I moved out. I make it just fine now but there was many rough patches. It has made me a stronger person and more knowledgeable about money.

3. The best money I have spent would have to be on my family. I love to see them smile and be happy. It can be the littlest thing and they smile.

4. I have always been a sucker for small companies saying oh do this and you will make money. I have become wiser about it now and don't get suck in but there for a while I had.

5. I can not answer this because I am not married and don't plan to be until at least 26 or 28. I am still learning about who I am.

6. The best thing about being a woman you can get your way if you flash a little cleavage. LOL! J/K but you know its true. The worst is the pain and suffering you go through monthly and a man doesn't have any! I also agree with one of Janell's sisters about the job.

7. The one dream that will not be fulfilled is my grandmother seeing me get married and having her at the wedding. That was one of our dreams together. The other was for her to see me graduate. I was the only one she got to see graduate. The other dreams can still be fulfilled.

Bettle Bug

My Bettle bug (Bailey) called me today at work from her trip in NYC. She called to tell me that since I call her my bettle bug that she has a new nickname for me. I asked her what it is and she started laughing. Finally she tells my my new nickname is Lady Bug. LOL leave it to my bug to come up with something like that.

Dog sitting

Oh the joys of being on your own and your family decides to go out of town. I get the joy of watching Angel, my parents dog, she is a very good dog. My family is in New York City for the week. Yesterday they attend the Yankees game against the Royals. They called me during it and said it was very hot! It is in the middle of the afternoon I wouldn't think it would be cool. today they are going to a lobster fest. That will be fun. Tomorrow off to the Statue of Liberty. I am not sure what the rest of the week comes for them except I know they will be home soon and I will be done dog sitting.

This weekend was a very long one. Friday I took a half day and spent the day with Bill. We actually went to York, Nebraska where he raced that evening. It turned out to be a night from hell. He blew up his motor but we didn't realize it until Saturday when it he pulled out to run it Saturday. I came home Friday night because I had to get the dog. So I spent the day cleaning, went to my aunts, and talked on the phone quite a bit to him. Saturday when he pulled out for hot laps with his back up car a piston shot through the side of the oil pan. Needless to say we have two motors headed to the shop as I type. Good thing he has three weeks off with the open car. He just has weekly racing with his son on Saturdays. I'm extremely tired and I have month end to get done at work. Tonight is going to be a relaxing evening if I have anything to do about it.

Finally!

I finally got my recipes off to Janell. I felt like I was never going to get them to her. I am already thinking of things for next year. I am just going to slowly save them.

I love this idea of the cookbook. It is great I know I have had one but somehow got lost in all my moves. It happens when you don't pack your place up.

Saturday

Thank you to everyone that came out to the cabin on Saturday. I had a blast seeing everyone since I am not able to go to the picnic on Sunday. I enjoyed seeing everyone and talking for a few hours. Smitty and Elaine thank you for the steaks and bread. It was all so wonderful. Steph I enjoyed visiting with you. Next time I am in Denver we will have to get together. All the kids had fun. The twins were catching frogs. (ewww) Audrey and Bailey were playing the pool. All the guys stood around the barbeque while Anthony cooked. You know how guys are they are all pitching in someway or another. Sandy and I made grilled corn on our neighbors grill. It was all just a relax evening.

Realized half way up there I had forgot my recipes for my mom to take the next day to give to Janell. I have two of them on my computer here at work. I am going to write the other two. Janell just let me know your email so I can get them sent to you and let me know where to send my money to so that I can receive one this year.

Hope everyone had a great time Sunday I heard it was a decent turn out.

Family Reunion

This weekend is the annual Carson Family Reunion. This is a fun time at least when we were little it was. I haven't been in a few years. I work Sundays so by the time I get up there it is basically over. I think the last time I was at one was right before Aunt Joyce passed away. I have been trying to find out who is all coming to the family reunion. I finally heard last night that Gay, Elaine, Stephanie, Anthony, the twins, Audrey, Bob and Sandy. Anyone else coming Val, Buddy, Ed, George? Come one you guys let me know what is going on. City Girl you better be coming you haven't been back for years!!!!! Actually I think the last time everyone was together was when Marc and LaDawn was here. I won't be making my way up towards the Oakland, Tekamah area until the afternoon on Saturday due to a 10 am baby shower I am attending. Steph call me so we can get together while I am up in that area. Otherwise I hope everyone has a great time at the picnic on Sunday!

Janell I am sending my recipes with my mom we are putting them together on Saturday when I get up to Tekamah. It is looking like about 5 of them.

Bad

I know I have been bad and haven't been doing my blogging like I was. I have been just in a little rut. I have been getting up at 5 am to go to the gym. I come home lay back down for a hour. Then I get up and do my usually routine then off to work. I come home I lay down for about 15 minutes. I do as much prep for dinner that I can. Then its back off to the gym for a half hour. When I come home I drink a bottle of water then take a shower. Oh boy does the shower feel good when you are all yucky! I get out and make dinner after dinner I do my hair. Then I just want to relax. I know there is really no excuse but I am trying to lose this weight and figure you guys would understand that I am at the gym instead of sitting at home in front of the computer. There will be more to come in a bit!

Cancelled

I just got a call a while ago saying the Q cruise got cancelled. What a bummer I was so excited to go on the cruise. Now to figure out what to do instead!

Q Cruise

Tonight I am taking a cruise up the Missouri river with a local radio station Q 98.5. I have done this a few times. Its a blast very nice and relaxing. Tonight the weather is suppose to be awesome that will make it very enjoyable.

Tomorrow Bill is out of town so I am going to do some farmer's market, birthday shopping, and clean house. I love going to the farmer's market I used to go as a kid with my dad to the one in Blair. The one down here doesn't have baked goodies like we used to get from Bernetta in Blair. Oh could she make a sugar cookie. Bailey's birthday is this week she will be turning 8. We are looking into buying her a big girls bike. She is riding Mary's old bike so she deserves her own bike. Bailey's birthday is the same as my late grandma Marie so it is a very special day for all of us. I miss my grandma very much more and more each day. It doesn't get easier!

Sunday I will be working, then watching the Nascar race in Chicago and writing up those recipes for Janell. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Blond Moment....

I have had a total blond moment. I have been trying to figure out what recipes to put into the Carson cookbook. I think I have missed the deadline though! Way to go me! I do have them though Janell I just have to write them up and send them to you. Sorry I haven't got them to you. I have been so wrapped up with work and my neck injury. I will get on it this weekend.

If you remember this you grew up in the 90s...

Headaches

Sorry I haven't been blogging to much. I have been having really bad headaches. So I finally after being up almost all night Sunday with one I decide to get some help. Turns out I have strained the muscles between each of my vertabras in my neck and that has been causing these killer headaches. I am getting cracked and iced which seems to help a lot. Hopefully I will be back to normal soon.

Was out sick monday so nothing to exciting happened with me. Today I am working a very long shift to try and make up for yesterday. Then at 7:15 I am getting my hair done and I am excited. Remember I am addicted to having my hair done. Don't know what it will be yet. The fourth I will be spending at my parents annual 4th of July party at there cabin. Bill is still off racing he has been gone since Friday. He will be returning Thursday but only until Saturday afternoon and then he is off again but only for 2 days. Alright

Well I finally got a site meter and have figured it out a little bit. Its interesting to see where people look at your site from. I want to know who is looking at my blog from Anderson Auto Group? Can you get me a deal on a car come on speak up let me know who you are!!

Well I am back onto the diet and working out. I feel like I am a rabbit with all the salad I have been eating. There is so many temptations but I have to stay strong and not do them. With going to the pool last weekend made me realize even more I need to stay with this. I am going to attempt to go to the gym twice a day. We will see how that last because I am not a morning person at all.

Monday, June 25, 2007

The weekend was short but enjoyable. I was able to hang out at the pool all weekend which was much needed. I am planning on it again this weekend. I got a new book to read and it has been so good I have barely been able to put it down. Its called a A Bend in the Road By Nicholas Sparks. He is a very good author. I am hoping to get another a book for this weekend. Any suggestions? I have a few pictures I will hopefully get up tonight of Bailey at the pool Saturday. She was a little fish most of the afternoon. It was so cute. She loves the water.

I am hoping to get some rest tonight I have had a very hard time sleeping lately. I am not sure why it is but its starting to really drive me nuts. I have bags under my eyes today. Not a good day for me look wise.

This week is a good one for my family. My mom and dad will be celebrating there 26th wedding anniversary Wednesday. Stephanie (my cousin) was the flower girl in the wedding. I am trying to come up with a gift, last year I went all out and through a huge suprise 25th party. It was a lot of fun but there is no way I can top it this year.

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday Stephanie! I hope you have a great day!

Craziness

Life is craziness. I thought with Bill being out of town last week I would get a ton done. Boy was I wrong. Last Wednesday I had planned to just stay home make a pizza do housework. I had just left work and my cousin Jess called and asked me to go to Shadow Lake with her. I was like sure I haven't seen you in a while that sounds good. We ended up shopping for a while and then went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Oh my goodness it was so good and I felt like a fat pig afterwards. They give you so much food and I always seem to forget that when I go there. I went home after that had issues sleeping. Thursday I got up did the whole work thing and went home. Decide about 6 to go up to my parents because I wasn't sure if I was going to see my dad for father's day. Good thing I did because I didn't make it to Tekamah on Sunday. Got home and got ready for bed.

Friday as you all know I went to the College World Series. I was very upset because "my best friend" was suppose to go with us she never showed up or called to tell me she wasn't coming. I tried calling her and she didn't answer. So I have come to the conclusion she hasn't changed she is the same person she was five years ago. Her and I had a huge falling out five years ago and hadn't spoke until last October. We patched things up and we have been good friends again until she pulled this. I wouldn't have been so mad if it was just me but my sister and her best friend McKenzie was with me waiting. Anyways we got to the game at the bottom of the fifth. So we didn't get to see to much of the game. I felt like such a disappointment to my sister and Kenzi because of my supposed friend. We had a good time after the game we walked around down there for a bit and then headed back to my place to watch movies.

Saturday we got up around 10 got ready and headed to Nebraska Furniture Mart. I purchased a new recliner for the living room. I told bill it was for him for Father's day even though I just really wanted a new chair. Kenzi and I carried the chair up three flights of stairs while Mary just stood t here and watched us. Thanks Mary! We had some lunch and then headed up to the pool for a while before they had to head to work. It was a good time to spend with them.

Sunday I waitressed and I didn't get out of the restaurant until 2:30 and we close at 1:00 that is how busy we were. My whole body hurt afterwards. I hit the grocery store and went home for the day. I was able to get my laundry done and a little cleaning.

Monday Bill has returned finally from his trip. We made dinner and then just hung out together since he had been gone for so long. It is great having him home again. I have about three weeks with him until he leaves again for a week.

CWS

Its that time of the year when the College World Series rolls into town. I have never been to the CWS and have lived in Nebraska my whole life. I am not much of a baseball person I think it can be boring at times. Mike, my mom's boss, had tickets for the night game tonight and gave them to my mom. My sister Mary, her best friend McKenzie, my best friend Jamie and I are going to the game. I am excited to go just to say I have been. I have heard it is quite the expierence. I didn't even know who was playing until about a hour ago, which I think my dad said it was North Carolina and Mississippi State. I will try and remember my camera to have pictures on here.

Val

Valerie is my cousin on my dad's side, Ed (her dad) and my dad our first cousins so that would make us second cousins. I have an absolute blast with her. I don't see her that much. The last time her and I were together was when my great aunt Joyce (her grandma) passed away. I had just turned 21 back in November so her and I went out one evening. Val takes me downtown and here I am in a bigger city that has more of a night life then what I have ever been in. The Omaha night life is very dull compared to Denvers. We go to this martini bar, I don't remember the name of it, I had never had a martini so I was just like ok something different I'll try it. We get this martinis called a flirtini (they were good), these two guys walk up to and start talking to us. Here I am hundreds of miles away and these guys are from LeMars, Iowa. Out of any guys in the bar comes up to us have to be within two hours of the town I live at. So Val decides to tell these guys that my dad is part of the mob and scared them off the rest of the night thankfully. My dad isn't part of the mob or anything like that. Then we went to another bar and there is this huge line outside, Val walks up to the bouncer and we get in right away I was think damn who am I with that we don't have to stand in this line. Val you still haven't told me how you got in there so easily. Walking to the car that night I realized I had a little to much to drink and I had to go back to a hotel room that my parents and I were sharing. Not a good thing but dealt with it.

The one thing I remember and learned on my trips out to Denver (my most recent last November) since I turned 21, you are in higher elevation so don't drink as much as you do in Omaha! Val thank you for taking me out that night and showing me around downtown Denver it was a blast. Next time you come to Omaha (which better be soon) I will take you to our boring bar scene around here.

Friday

Friday was quite a boring day until the evening. I was getting ready to leave work a little early so I could head to Eagle, Nebraska. Never been to the place and wasn't to impressed with it either. There was a huge accident right outside of my office so that slowed me down a good ten minutes. Once I hit the interstate it was smooth driving. I'm driving down the highway and I'm thinking there is no way there is a race track out here all there is fields, trees, and hills. Then I came up over this hill and it just appeared. I was like wow there was no signs that it was coming up. It was weird because usually there is a ton of lights and you can see them for a good a mile. Bill placed 17Th that night. Not to bad considering the track conditions were terrible. I got home at 1:30 that night. Late night for me and I am usually not up that late.

When I woke up Saturday I got ready to leave for Blair and I noticed there was police tape outside my apartment building. The panic set in on wondering what happened. Turned out there was a shooting at 2 am in my apartment complex. There was a couple that was getting robbed by two people and so our on site security (who is a police officer) went to try and help the people. The two guys fled the scene by foot in opposite directions the security officer went after one of the suspects and he pulled a gun on the officer so the officer shot the guy. He got away however and was taken to the hospital by his girlfriend. He was later arrested. I am extremely freaked about this all because that could have been me if I was just a half hour later. I now own pepper spray since I will be home by myself quite a bit the next month.

Mary

This is my middle sister and she is a riot! She is eighteen and going into her senior year of high school! I remember when she was a baby! I always wanted to hold her and feed her! I was told i was her mother hen! Well that happens and I still catch myself doing it. She loves to give my mom a run for her money! Not listening to what she says, pushing her curfew back because she left mom a message on the answering machine. However they are just sitting at McDonalds. She constantly fights with our youngest sister Bailey! Which just drives mom nuts.

I have been thinking a lot about her lately with growing up and how old she is now. I can remember after it had been raining I would chase her around the yard with worms and stick them down her shirt. Yes I was a brat but I loved it. When we were little and mom and dad would take trips, grandpa and grandma Thomas would watch us. For some reason Mary didn't like grandpa when we were growing up because she thought the day mom and dad came home she didn't have to go to school. Grandpa would make her and she would get so mad at throw a huge fit. She has grown out of that a lot now.

She is a great kid and I love her to death. I just don't always show it. The only advice I can give her is keep a straight head on like you have and don't give up!

Prelude to the Dream

This is a race that is done by Tony Stewart (Nascar driver), the contents of this is race is at a dirt track called Eldora Speedway which Tony owns. He gets a bunch of Nascar drivers to come to the track and race dirt late models. Tony asks a bunch of regular dirt late model drivers to donate there car for this event. If anything happens to the cars Tony pays for it out of his pocket. Oh you haven't heard the best thing yet! This event is put all on for Victory Junction for Kids which is a charity that Kyle Petty (Nascar driver) started when his son was killed in an accident. It is a great event! I wasn't able to attend the race because it has been sold out for months. However I was able to buy it on pay-per-view which was just as good especially because I didn't get a bunch all dirty like I usually do at the track! Way to go Tony you did a great deed for a lot of people last night! Enjoyed the show a lot! Hope to attend next years and I am sure it will be just as good!

Back

I have been back to the gym since Sunday and my body is screaming in pain at me. I know its the first week of aches and pains but wow I am just sore all over. There is muscles I didn't even know that exisited that hurt. I have been doing this class called 24Camp which is basic boot camp. I have it tonight and I really don't want to do it because I have ordered a pay per view that starts at 7. That sounds really bad but I really want to watch the pay per view so a part of me is thinking going to the gym at 4:45 and then be home by 6. I won't get to do the class but at least I still get a work out.

Bill is off racing for a week and a half. He will be traveling all over the midwest. His schedule is
Today Wednesday 6- Davenport, Iowa
Thursday 7- Home
Friday 8- Eagle, Nebraska
Saturday 9-York, Nebraska
Sunday 10- Home
Monday 11- Home
Tuesday 12- Home
Wednesday 13- Menomonie WI
Thursday 14- Superior WI
Friday 15- New Richmond WI
Saturday 16- New Richmond WI
Sunday 17- Jim Falls WI
Monday 18- Home

I will be so happy to see him! I hate these long swings but it comes with racing. I will be able to talk to him every day so that helps a lot. This will be about the longest we have been apart so it will definetly be interesting.

No I haven't fallen off the earth. I have just been so busy! Last week went a little something like this
Monday- I had off due to Memorial day
Tuesday- Worked for a while, went to Mitch's funeral came back to work and then home to clean.
Wednesday- I had a seminar first thing in the morning out at Mahoney State Park. Then into the office. Went home and crashed at 5:45 pm and didn't wake up till the next morning. Obviously needed the sleep.
Thursday- I worked all day and then spent time with Bill.
Friday- I had the whole office to myself because everyone else was at the company golf outing. Didn't feel right going to it when I was out most of the week already. Went home and cleaned and watched a little tv after 10.
Saturday- I did the rest of my cleaning and laundry. Spent the afternoon with Bill. Then I babysat Bailey for a while. Bill and I then hung out for a while I ended up falling asleep cuddled up to him on the couch. Don't even remember him leaving.
Sunday- I worked at the restaurant. Went to my cousin's graduation. Was suppose to go to my friend Jamie's daughters birthday party but it looked like it was going to rain any minute so I wasn't going to drive all the way to Blair and sit out in the rain. Got home from the graduation and lunch with Bill. Went to the gym and then off to the grocery store. I was so tired by then that I made dinner and watched this new tv show on Lifetime called Armywives. I absolutely love the show. Lifetime is a very addicting channel not good on the social life.

So that is my update for last week.

Sunday

I worked early that morning and after work. Jamie and I went to a place where you can sell your name brand clothes that are in good condition. Then we were off to the races. It was so much fun. This picture is of one of the three race cars that Bill owns. This is the crate car that was actually bought for his son to race. Bill raced this one on Sunday. He started 4th in the B feature got up to first a caution came out with two laps to go and he got passed on the last lap so he got second which was awesome. In the A Feature got 14th place and he started 25th. Which was so awesome. I am so proud of you baby!

This is car number two of three that he owns. The third car wasn't raced this weekend. This is the 0K car also known as Tiffany. She has taken some crazy rides in the past couple of years. Boy had it paid off though. Bill started 12th in the B feature and he finished fifth. However they were only taking the top two in the B feature to the A or the main feature as some people call it. It was so much fun and there was a lot of good racing.

Friday

Friday night was so much fun. I got to hang out with a good friend of mine from high school. We had a few drinks to start the evening out and then headed out to Timber lodge Steakhouse for some dinner. After eating a very good dinner we were off to the movies. Pirates of the Caribbean 3. That was a very good movie! My sister spent the night which was a lot of fun.

Saturday the races got cancelled so Bill was home with me. Jamie ended up coming over also. While Bill worked on race cars Jamie and I went to the mall to shop for a while. Had a very good relaxing time. Then Bill grilled out steaks and potatoes for us. Jamie and I made salad and bread for dinner. It was so good.

Tired

The weekend has made me wore out. I will try tonight to do an update with what went on and pictures from this weekend. Today has been a very emotional day.

Standing there the wind blowing through your body you get this sense of relief, the shots begin to fire and next you hear the music begin. You try your hardest to fight back the tears but the sun appears and you realize its OK just let them go. They are at peace and not fighting anymore so why should you.

The above paragraph is everything that went on during the end of my friend Mitch's funeral. Before the gun salute started the wind was blowing but then when the taps began the sun came out and the wind was non existent.

Mitch was 58 years old, and a great guy that you could turn to if you needed help. He met Leslie up in Tekamah many years ago. The way we know him is through mutual friends and he owns a cabin in the same area as my parents do. They were there every weekend that they could and had a great time. He will be dearly missed but we all know he isn't suffering anymore.

Thursday, May 24, 2007

Thank You

Thank you for all of your prayers. Mitch has went to a better place this morning. He is no longer suffering.

Update

Mitch had a good day yesterday. He is responding to Leslie so that is a good sign. The bleeding has stopped. Please continue to pray for him.

Explain

I guess I need to explain something. I can sit here and tell you the whole thing of my relationship with my boyfriend but that would take way to long. My boyfriend is 11 years older then me. We have the best relationship ever. He has been married and he doesn't want to rush into things. We are both madly in love with each other. There has been a time when we had decided we didn't want to rush into things and make any mistakes. I get frustrated because I feel like we are ready to go to the next step but I sit back and glad we didn't. There is quite a few of my friends that have ran out got married and pregnant may not have been in that order but now they are getting divorced. I don't want to be one of those statistics the only statistic I want to be is the one where the couple grows old together because they are happily married and know who the person is. We are best friends and now the best couple because we have taken the time to know each other. I hope I didn't make you guys think he is a terrible person for what he said. It is his way to get me back into realization when I get emotional. I hope one day you all will met him, he is a great guy and you guys will love him just like my immediate family has.

Monday

UGH! I just want to go back to bed pull the covers over my head and be surrounded by all my pillows. I don't feel the best today. Today is the day I start back on my diet and gym. Lets hope it goes good again. I had a customer yesterday tell me that I look great and I was just like hmm I haven't been on my diet for over a week and I look great. YES!

Friday night my dad got stuck in a meeting longer then what he had expected so we didn't make it to our dinner and drinks. I met up with him for a little while. Then I met my best friend Tiffany for the evening. We adventured to the movies and seen Shrek 3. Yes I am part of the 122 million they made this weekend. I got home at 11:45 that is very late for me. I crashed hard. I didn't even hear my phone ring the six times that it did.

Saturday I spent the morning cleaning a little and then went to lunch with bill. Then it was girls shopping day, my two aunts Kim and Pam (my mom's side), we went to the new shopping area in Omaha. Its located at 72nd and hwy 370. Its called Shadow Lake, it was beautiful and a lot of fun. I didn't get home until 6:30 from shopping with them. I was so tired but I continued to clean when I got home.

Sunday I worked at the restaurant. We were busy so it was nice. Then I went to the hospital in the afternoon to spend time with Leslie. Mitch is doing a little better. His vitals are becoming better. Please keep him in your prayers.

Called in

The family has been called in for Mitch. It is not looking good at all for him. His kidneys have started to shut down. This is so sad I have been very sad about it. He is such a great guy. I feel bad for Leslie one day she is planning her wedding and the next she is getting ready to say good bye with a funeral. I'm hoping there is still a miracle but it just doesn't sound good. Please continue to pray for him and his family.

Happy Birthday!!

I know its not quite the 20th here yet but by the time Plummie reads this it will be. Happy birthday Plummie! Hope you have a great day and that you get spoiled!

Friday

Well its Friday! This week has been an emotional roller coaster mainly starting with yesterday. I've really sat back and taken a look at my life since everything with Mitch has happened. Makes me want to get married and have kids. Bill always says to me what are you in a hurry for. Well I have finally come up with my answer because I want to live my life the way I want to with you and do what ever our lives have in store for us. I just don't want to do it alone anymore. They were 2 1/2 months away from getting married and now who knows what will happen.

Mitch has started bleeding again so they are getting a neurologist in there to take a look at things. Hopefully they will get good news. The family needs the prayers for strength and whatever god has in store for him.

My weekend is pretty boring. Tonight I have a date with my dad for a while. We are going to some drinks and dinner thing at a place near my house. Bill is racing tonight in Onawa, Iowa and York Nebraska tomorrow. I won't be able to make the adventures with him this weekend. Which is a total bummer. Tomorrow my plans are to clean and catch up on a bunch of things around the apartment. Maybe even do a little shopping. Sunday is the same old thing work and then come home to prepare for the next week.

Update on Mitch

Went to the hospital during my lunch to see Leslie. Turns out Mitch had a hemorrhaging stroke. Which is when the blood vessel in your brain start to bleed and you go numb or something to that effect. He isn't responding to much. He is in a coma. He also had a blood clot now at the stem of his brain. Please keep him in your prayers. If he makes it through the weekend they will be able to start running test on Monday to see if there is brain damage or even activity. The next couple of days are very critical for him. He is a strong man lets hope he makes it out of this okay.

Mitch

Please keep my parents good friend, Mitch, in your prayers. He had a brain aneurysm last night at the golf course and isn't in very good condition. Also please keep Leslie, his fiancee, in your prayers. They are suppose to get married July 7, 2007. We love you both and pray for him to get better soon.

Fell

I have fell off my diet so bad it isn't even funny. I haven't had the motivation to even go to the gym. I was so happy when I did lose the weight and was going to the gym all the time. Now I am so tired when I leave work I don't want to go. I have to get back into things. I have gained half the weight back. I will be so mad at myself if I gain it all back. My goal is to start back up hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Depends on how the weather is when I get off. I don't like my jeep outside if it a chance of strong storms. Call me a coward but who wants to spend the money on getting it fixed.

Vacation

Well my vacation didn't go the way I planned. My boyfriend and I stayed in town instead of driving to Missouri. The weather was suppose to be rain down there and the roads up here had already flooded the past week so we thought it was best to stay home. I didn't go into work Friday since I was all caught up. Bill and I just ran errands, went to lunch, and then I went to Blair. While he spent time with his son. I celebrated Mother's day that evening with my mom because I had to work Sunday. Mom got two tickets to Tim McGraw and Faith Hills Concert in June. Dad also got that for Father's day. Hey knock two gifts out at once. We went to dinner after the graduation parties we attended for some of Mary's friends. I was so excited I got catfish from Kelley's fish market it is so good. I even have picky Bailey eating catfish.

Saturday, Bill and I hung out in the morning and then that afternoon I laid down for a nap didn't think I would sleep long. Ha I was asleep from 1 till 4:15. I wasn't to thrilled I slept most of the day away. I must have needed it though. Once I got up I went grocery shopping, and flower shopping. I got some pretty hanging plants for my balcony. I made dinner and made an apple pie. If anyone has any easy pie recipes they would like to share I would be interested or any dessert recipe. Went to bed since I had to be up at 5:45 am on Sunday.

Sunday, I worked watched the Nascar race and went out shopping. Didn't have any luck shopping until today. Anyways I hope everyone had a great weekend and happy mothers day.

No excuse

I have no excuse of why I was so terrible at blogging last week. I kept up on everyone Else's blogs. I just didn't really have anything to write about.

Life has just been the same stuff just a different day. I go on vacation this week to Wheatland Missouri with my boyfriend. That is if it stops raining. Otherwise we will be staying home. We have had so much rain the past week. The rain was suppose to continue into this week but the forecast has changed just a little. With this weather brings tornadoes, there was one that hit in Kansas really bad. It destroyed 95% of the homes in that town. Not a good situation. Please pray for those families there lives has been turned upside down thanks to mother nature.

I will try and be better at writing this week.

Tradition

I remember a tradition that my grandma and I used to do every summer. I would stay with my grandparents all summer long until I was seventeen. Every summer grandma and I would make chocolate chip cookies. It was so much fun. We would do different sizes and at the end we would always make on great big cookie to share. I have pictures somewhere of a couple different cookies we would make. Each year I would think the big cookie was getting smaller. It was just that I was getting older. I miss making cookies with my grandma.

What are things you miss doing that was a tradition in your family?

Results

Well the results are in: I have lost 2% body fat but I have gained weight in some areas. That is a good sign though because that means my fat is turning into muscle. I don't know if I want a bunch of muscle but I don't want to be flabby. So I can deal with a little muscle. Now I just have to achieve the rest of my goals.

Final

Tonight is my final work out with my personal trainer. Hopefully it will be a good one. I have just about met my goal for this month I am two pounds away. I still have a few days left so hopefully I can lose them. I have been able to eat the amount of calories and the "good stuff". I got into an outfit that was tight at the end of the summer last year. So that makes me feel really good that I can get into it. The next question will be is did i lose any body fat? I hope so but who knows until they measure.

OUCH!!

So I just found out I don't have wind burn! I went last week to the dermatologist and they switched my face medicine. The doctor didn't tell me that one of the medicines was only suppose to be once every other day until I called today the nurse told me that it was in his notes that way. Well it would have been nice to know because now I have a red face that feels like it is on fire!

Wind burn

Oh does it hurt to the point that I want to cry. How did this happen? Well I spent a nice relaxing Friday and Saturday at my parents cabin in Tekemah. I helped dad with the yard work. I got to use the riding lawn mower. Didn't think to much of how windy it was until I stopped and my face felt like it was on fire. We went into to town to Ronnie's to have lunch. Then mom, bailey and I went up to Oakland for a while. I love that small town it is so cute. My face just started to hurt even more. When we got back to the cabin I had more mowing to do and the wind had picked up even more. It is all red and peeling it still burns. If you have any remedies let me know I am up for anything right now!!!

Meals

My cousin La Dawn posted about her nanny's canned meat and how good it was. I have been sitting here thinking about meals that my families makes for get together or when you are there visiting. Nanny was known for her canned meat and just about anything else she made was awesome. My grandma was known for her fried chicken oh it was so good. I miss these meals and how good they were. When you try and make it its just not the same. Not only are the meals good but so our remembering the times that went with it. I can remember when grandma made fried chicken she had a stool she sat on in the kitchen and I would sit right next to her and watch. You would think I could make it but I can't.

What memories do you have of meals with loved ones that have passed on?

Vacation

I get to go on a semi vacation in May. I am going to Wheatland Missouri with Bill. He will be racing done there at a really nice track. He asked me to go so I was able to get the time off. I am so excited to go and watch him race. I'm hoping I will be able to get my family that lives around the lake to come and watch since it is close to them. My luck though these races will get rained out. That is what has happened to me in the years past either they get rained out half way there or the weather is so yucky you just don't even want to be there. Lets hope for the best!

Workout videos

A while back ago I bought these work out videos called Windsor Pilates. I used to do them all the time and I was like wow there is nothing to this. So Tuesday night the gym was having a Pilates class so I was like that is something different then my regular routine I will go and do that. Wow needless to say I was doing those videos so wrong! I have been so sore in my abs the past two days. Tonight is yoga but I am not sure if I will do it since it goes into my Grey's anatomy. I may just do my regular routine. I have lost a few more pounds. I have been trying to be so good but it is hard when your boyfriend has fallen off the wagon and keeps waiting food that isn't good. I have been able to stay focused and that is a huge plus for me. Its like when you are a little kid and your parents have a chart for you when you do something good you get to put a gold star on it. Well I have made an excel spreadsheet and looking at it makes me happy and feels like I am achieving something.

What makes someone do such a terrible thing?

Last night at dinner Bill and I was listening to the press hound the police chief for answers about the shooting at VA Tech. It was terrible how the press would try and twist the words. I was sitting there in shock one because of the whole thing and two how the press was. I understand this is a terrible thing but step back take a second they may not have answers right away quit trying to get him to say something. I would rather have all the information at once that is accurate then someone reading more into what the chief of police said.

My other thing about this is what makes someone do such a terrible thing? How do you not know that someone is this messed up? Was there signs or warnings that were disregarded? Is it peer pressure that made this person snap and if so get some help don't kill someone. If this was my child that did something like this I would disown them so fast. You don't kill another human being I don't care how mad you are at someone and to take other peoples lives that had nothing to do with it.

It is such a tragedy, I remember back to Columbine if I am not mistaken it was in April also. My cousin Ed's ex girlfriend Georgeanne took me to the high school in June when I was out there. You could just feel the pain and sorrow that those people went through. The Columbine devastated people and brought on tons of security to schools. What's next for college's security? Will you not be able to have certain things in your dorm rooms now?

Weekend where did it go??

My weekend flew by it wasn't even funny. I worked Saturday and Sunday from 7-1. Saturday I went shopping form 3 pm until 9 pm. I got three new outfits so that made me happy. Sunday I went shopping with my friend Jamie. It was great to catch up with her since she moved to Wahoo Nebraska. Bill practiced yesterday out at York Nebraska so he left at 9 am and didn't get home until 9 pm last night. Long day for him and me since I didn't get to see him at all.

My week is looking to be a busy one, tomorrow morning I have to take my SUV to Blair to get serviced and my uncle is letting me bring his car back to work. Wednesday I have my last appointment with my trainer. Thursday I am going to see a dermatologist which I hope he can help me. Friday I am a "single woman" until Monday as long as Mother Nature behaves. I will try and get some post done this week.

Some accomplishment

Well I have acheived some of my accomplishment for getting into shape. I have lost 6 pounds since April 2nd. I can go up my stairs at home without being winded, which is a huge plus. I have changed quite a few of my eating habits. I thought that was going to be the toughest but it has become so much easier after the first week. I will keep you updated. Wednesday I get to find out if I have lost any body fat.

The winner is...

Mother nature again. Bill was suppose to go racing this weekend and mother nature is the winner again. He just wants to go racing but you can't do that when there is snow where you are suppose to race. So I get another weekend to spend with him until the season starts.

I got that allergy shot yesterday and I am so glad I did. I didn't wake up this morning all congested it was great. I haven't had that feeling in years during allergy season. If you have allergies I highly recommend it.

I know this is short but I really don't have much to blog about its snow rainy day and I just want to go curl up by the fireplace. I will get an update posted about my gym and weight progress one of these days soon. Its all a good sign.

Mary, Brooke and Bailey

Season is here and to stay

Allergy season is here and to stay for some months. My head is pounding so hard right now I would love to go take a nice hot shower and nap. I have decided to try something different this year. I am getting an allergy shot this afternoon and it is suppose to last through the whole season. We will have to see. It will be nice not to have to be suffering and taking medicine on a daily basis.

Last weekend

Well the parties are over and the week has come to return to work. Still have family in town till wednesday. Tonight will be the last of seeing them at dinner. It is always good to see the family that is from out of state. I love my family dearly but boy they haven't helped with this diet. I had a lot of temptations but I was good. I had a very very small piece of cake on Saturday at the party and I didn't eat the frosting. I even lost weight that day. So that made me happy. Gotta love mom she gave Bill and I an easter basket which we didn't want because we are trying to lose weight. It is hidden for that lovely time of the month when I get those really bad cravings if you get in my way you better watch out or those midnight cravings where just one small piece will do it. I haven't had any of those yet but I am sure it is to come.

Saturday after the party we went through the rest of my grandma's stuff. It was so hard to go through it. I cried most of the way home. I have had a really hard time with this and it doesn't seem to be getting any easier. My grandpa has remarried a very nice lady but I have a hard time accepting the fact that there is someone new in my grandpa's life. I am getting better about it but it is extremely difficult.

Sunday I waitressed and made dinner for Bill and I because my family was still in Nebraska City and I wouldn't make it down in time for dinner. We had cajun pork chops that bill grilled and they were awesome! I made some potatoes. It was fun making dinner together. I get a kick out of we got a kitchen table for this apartment (I got rid of my old one because it needed a lot of work done to it) and we still sit on the floor at the coffee table in the living room. I think we have ate twice at the table.

I have the camera back I just need to download the pictures tonight so hopefully you will see them soon!

Coming Soon

The pictures will be coming soon. I left my camera with my mom this weekend so she could take more pictures.

Happy Easter

I remember when I was little Easter was so much fun. I always got a big stuffed rabbit, a chocolate bunny and peeps. There was many times we weren't home in Nebraska for Easter. I remember being in Colorado with all my family out there. That was a lot of fun. The easter egg hunt in the backyard of Aunt Joyce's house. It didn't matter how small Aunt Joyce's house was we all fit in there for the holiday. If you know our family you know how many of us there was. It didn't ever seen tight until it was food time. Then one year I was in Arkansas with my mom's side wow that was 19 years ago when we went down there. My mom always made sure I had the cutest dress for Easter with a bonnet. My favorite one was this yellow one I had that had this cute yellow hat with it. I was so mad when I grew out of it. I believe it is still in the closet at my parents.

Remembering all these memories makes me happy and sad. I miss all the love ones that have been taken away from me in these. Mainly my grandma Thomas and aunt Joyce. I try to fight back tears but sometimes you just can't. I know they are all in a better place but I guess I am just selfish because I want them back here alive and well. I can sit here wishing there was something different that could have been done but its a part of life. I love you both very much and miss you very much.

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter. I doubt I will be able to post anything this weekend with my grandpa's 80Th birthday party and my dad's 50Th birthday party tomorrow. Till Monday have a good one!

Friday

It is Friday, I can't wait for the day to be over. I have an appointment with the trainer tonight and I am going to catch up on cleaning. Since I had been concentrating so much on the old place. Fridays is catch up day at the office. I am not motivated to do anything today. I have been working my butt off all week. I will get it done though I just need to get some caffeine in me. I sit here thinking how hungry I am which I need to stop I have lost 2 lbs this week. Its a start. I'm slowly finding different things to eat since I can only have so many calories a day. I have been trying to find foods that have a lot of potassium in them. I don't care to much for bananas I will eat them if I have to but I would rather have something else. Any ideas? Well off to get some caffeine.

Irritated

I don't have a problem helping someone out. However when I am sitting there busting my butt to make sure something is getting down and the person that asked for help is walking around talking to everyone and constantly laughing. I am going to stop doing what you asked and concentrate on my job instead of this persons job. Now this person is all mad at me today because I put the project back on there desk because I have been swamped with my boss being out of town. This person confronted me about it today and I said I have other things to do then this project. Am I in the wrong because this person sure is acting like it?

Mother Nature Wins

The races for this weekend have already been won! The winner was Mother Nature! I like wins like that it doesn't cost any money and we didn't wreck anything. Bill and Bill Jr are a little bummed about it but now they can work more in the shop is what they told me last night. I just rolled my eyes. I love supporting him but at times I get so aggravated by how much time he spends with those cars. I am hoping this year won't be as bad since Billy Jr is working on them this year with him. Last year it was just Bill doing it all. So hopefully it will be a better year.
